Our Vision
We believe that together we can alleviate some of the effects of climate change, regenerate the soil, increase biodiversity and make food available direct from the land to the ethically minded consumer.
Our Values
Making a livelihood in an ethical way is of the utmost important to us and we seek to demonstrate that Earth Care, People Care and Future Care are not only words but affirmative actions in all aspects of the project and the business.
Please read our Impact Report for more in-depth information about our permaculture ethics and principles in action.
The Farm
Finca Verde is a small farm situated on about 4 hectares of mountainous land in the Alpujarras, Southern Spain.
The soil is very degraded, with its ability to support life threatened.
Water access is poor, with future water prospects looking bleak.
Yet here we are, trying to make this land produce food while improving the ecological state of the system.
The Climate
The climate has warm winters and hot summers, with only occasional rainfall during the winter months.
